I was a soldier at Reading Centralin mid 1970's and my parents(David and Lily Barker)ran the hostel. Massive 'thankyou' for tonight! Sick daughter at Reading Festival wasn't of interest to the medical tent. You wondeful people looked after her in your tent on site until her dad came along to collect her. Very fond memories as I was there the first year the corps did the Festival in about 1975??? I see Paul Mortlock on this site ....he and I were in the YP band!!! Greetings to anyone who remembers me!

Last Sunday evening I had the pleasure of attending the meeting at Reading. I was much blessed not only by the playing of the Chicago Staff Band, but also the Reading musical forces, and in particular the musical and sensitive rendition by the Reading band during the offering. Please pass on, to those concerned, my best wishes for their continuing service in proclaiming the message of our Lord Jesus Christ. I remain yours, because of HIM. Ian Jurd.

Just a short note to thank all at Reading Central for the love & support that you have given to Mel and I during our placement. You are truly inspirational to us both. We know God is going to do great things through you all- the only shame is that we cannot be there to see it all happen. Be assured of our continued love and prayers and we hope to see some of you at St. Helier in the near future. God Bless - Mel and Steve Scoulding

Hi and happy new year to anyone that may remember me from my many years (in my youth!!) at Reading Central. My name then was Paula Archer (grandaughter of Brigadier and mrs Rich). Fond memories of playing percussion with Philip Johnson under Alex Mitchell's lead, and singing company with Pam Denyer.

I would first thank you for such good music. I am a deputy band master of Nairobi Central and also Territorial bandmaster of Kenya East. It is nice just to have a link and a programme exchange with our corps. We are still young in music so i will send you our pics in mission from neighbouring country Tanzania so you are welcome in Kenya, Nairobi Central.
Keep in touch.
